From Chennai to Erode
Following the completion of his DM in Nephrology in 2023, Dr. Harish Sivagnanam was appointed Assistant Professor of Nephrology at Kalaignar Centenary Super Speciality Hospital, Guindy, Chennai (2024–2025). During his tenure, he was actively involved in the management of approximately 15,000 hemodialysis sessions, the care of patients with complex kidney diseases, and the training of postgraduate medical students and nephrology trainees.
Concurrently, he served as a visiting consultant at several hospitals across Chennai:
- Hande Hospital
- Vihaa Hospital
- Clinician Care Hospital
- IMAX Hospital
- Srinivasa Hospital
- Meridian Hospital
At Srinivasa Hospital and Meridian Hospital, Dr. Harish established the hospitals' renal transplant programmes, enabling both institutions to offer kidney transplantation. During this period, he performed several complex transplant procedures, including repeat kidney transplantation following previous graft failure and kidney transplantation in a recipient with significant coronary artery disease following recent coronary stenting.
In 2025, Dr. Harish returned to his hometown of Erode. He joined Revathy Medical Center, Tiruppur, where he established the hospital's renal transplant programme and led the team that performed the first successful kidney transplant in Tiruppur — a historic milestone that established the city's first renal transplant centre.
Under his leadership, the hospital also introduced Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD), Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), and hemoperfusion, expanding the availability of advanced nephrology services in the region.
During the same period, he co-founded NeoPrime Hospitals, Erode, where he established the hospital's hemodialysis and CAPD programmes. Through NeoPrime Hospitals, he continues to focus on delivering ethical, evidence-based, high-quality, and cost-effective nephrology care, while developing comprehensive kidney care services for patients across western Tamil Nadu.
